CONNECTICUT RECYCLERS COALITION BREAKFAST SERIES
Challenges of Fracking Waste & Legislative Wrap-Up
Come join the CRC at our next Breakfast Series event! The morning will consist of a brief legislative wrap-up of the 2018 CT Legislative Session followed by a discussion on the fracking waste, its potential reuse and the impact on CT Municipalities.
While there's no fracking going on within CT, this doesn't mean the waste generated from this process can't end up here. In the absence of state action, 41 Connecticut cities and towns have adopted local ordinances banning toxic fracking waste from entering their neighborhoods and waterways.
There's a lot on the horizon for this topic, including a requirement by the state for DEEP to create rules to deal with fracking waste in the coming months. A bill that would have regulated fracking waste did not pass this session.
CRC has assembled an expert panel consisting of active voices on this issue. Come be a part of the conversation and learn more about the challenges faced by our municipalities in the re-use of fracking waste and hear what is being done about it.
